Critique of Islam

Throughout the twenty-first century, there has been a rising tide of voices in the Western world calling for a critical tradition of Islam to be revived. These voices have included the likes of Salman Rushdie, Richard Dawkins, Sarah Haider, Ali A. Rizvi, and Aki Muthali.

While there are a number of genuine critics of Islam, these voices are largely liberal democrats. Among other things, they argue that Islam is associated with violence. They also share many of the same views as Muslim Reformers. They often rely on statistics provided by organizations to back up their arguments.
