Plot:
As the last echoes of Season 3 fade away, The Witcher Season 4 promises to be a whirlwind of emotional intensity, complex character arcs, and mind-bending plot twists. The season opens with Geralt of Rivia, now portrayed by Liam Hemsworth, embracing a newfound stance against the sinister forces that plague the Continent. Abandoning his long-held principle of neutrality, Geralt is on a relentless quest to find and protect Ciri, who has begun her own journey into her ancestral lineage and magical powers.
Ciri, now calling herself Falka, has joined a rogue faction known as the Rats. Intrigued by her connection to the legendary Falka, the group initiates her into their ranks. But as Ciri gets closer to unraveling the mysteries of her bloodline, she also discovers a powerful artifact that could either be a boon or a curse. The artifact has the power to open portals to other dimensions, offering immense power but also attracting the attention of both new and familiar adversaries.
Yennefer, grappling with her newfound role as the leader of the Brotherhood of Sorcerers, hears whispers of the artifact’s existence. Realizing its potential for both good and evil, she seeks to find it before it falls into the wrong hands. She aligns herself with Geralt, not just for the sake of love but also for the formidable magical challenges that lie ahead. Together, they must confront a rising dark sorcerer, who is revealed to be an exiled member of the Brotherhood and wants the artifact to unleash an army of monsters into the world.
Vilgefortz and Emhyr var Emreis, the series’ notorious antagonists, also catch wind of the artifact. Each has its own sinister designs for it, adding another layer of urgency to Geralt and Yennefer’s mission. Meanwhile, Francesca Findabair, vengeful and emboldened, forms an uneasy alliance with them to bring down the Emperor of Nilfgaard.
Season 4 will also explore the political intricacies of the Continent as Radovid, the new king of Redania, is manipulated by his advisors, Dijkstra and Philippa Eilhart, into joining the hunt for the artifact.
As alliances shift and secrets are revealed, Season 4 promises to be a season of revelation and confrontation, culminating in an epic battle involving magic, political cunning, and the enduring struggle between light and darkness. The fate of the Continent hangs in the balance, and only time will tell who will emerge victorious.

Henry Cavill will not feature in The Witcher season 4 after upsetting fans and the entertainment industry by stepping aside as Geralt. Instead, Liam Hemsworth will lead the cast in his most high-profile role since The Hunger Games ended in 2015. Fans are divided, but seeing him play may sway them. Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra will resume their roles as Princess Ciri and Yennefer of Vengerberg, among others.

Release Date:
Netflix has not announced a release date for the fourth season of The Witcher, which was renewed in October 2022.Due to WGA and SAG strike action, it will likely be a while.
Writing on the new episodes began before the strike, but the matter must be resolved before production can begin, and if prior seasons are any indicator, the shoot will be protracted.
Given these considerations, The Witcher season 4 may not air until summer 2025, giving fans time to get acclimated to Liam Hemsworth in his grey wig.
